How Ruleward Works
A three-stage process designed for compliance officers who need to trust not just the output, but the method that produced it.
Step 1 — Detect
Continuous ingestion from regulatory sources
Ruleward maintains continuous connections to the Federal Register, agency websites, regulatory bulletin systems, and interpretive guidance channels for OCC, FDIC, Federal Reserve, CFPB, SEC, CFTC, FinCEN, NYDFS, NCUA, and additional sources.
Each source is monitored at a defined frequency. New publications trigger immediate ingestion — not a once-daily batch. Interim guidance, staff letters, and FAQs receive the same treatment as final rules.
Publication latency standards are documented per source. See our Methodology for source-specific commitments.
Step 2 — Classify
Four-axis structured taxonomy
Every ingested document is classified along four axes before it reaches a compliance team:
The distinction between a final rule, a proposed rule, supervisory guidance, and an interpretive letter is preserved — never collapsed into a generic "update" category. This classification is what enables accurate routing and prioritization.
Classification is AI-assisted and reviewed by regulatory specialists before delivery. See our Methodology for the human review process.
Step 3 — Deliver
Structured alerts to your compliance workflow
Classified alerts are delivered in three formats depending on your workflow:
- Email digest — daily or as-published, structured by obligation type
- JSON API — structured alert feed for GRC platform ingestion
- GRC webhook — push delivery to ServiceNow, Archer, or custom systems
Each alert includes: issuing agency, publication date, document type, regulatory topic, affected business lines, a human-written impact summary, and relevant section citations from the source document.
